HPR: “Al Quds and Palestine” committee created

Speaker of the House of People’s Representative (HPR) Mohamed Ennaceur announced Wednesday the creation of the “Al Quds and Palestine” committee during the opening of the afternoon plenary session dedicated to the examination of the draft law on common provisions between constitutional authorities.

In a statement on the situation in the occupied territories, the HPR calls for an international inquiry into the crimes perpetrated by the Zionist entity, denouncing attacks on innocent people of the border of the Gaza Strip.

The HPR urges all parliaments in the world to act in favour of the Palestinian cause, to deal with attacks targeting Palestinians, and to end the suffering of Palestinian detainees, including members of the Palestinian Legislative Council.

The parliament denounces, in its declaration, the barbaric attacks against unarmed civilians that can be described as war crimes.

The HPR reaffirms the categorical refusal of the transfer of the US embassy to Al Quds, regretting the obstinacy of the US administration to apply a decision contrary to international law.

Mohamed Ennaceur said that the statement was addressed to the presidents of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the European Parliament, the Parliamentary Association of the Mediterranean, the Arab Parliament, the Arab Parliamentary Union, the Union of State Councils members of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and the African Parliamentary Union.
