HPR to convene special session on February 1 for visiting French president

The House of People’s Representatives (HPR) will convene on February 1 a special session for French President Emmanuel Macron who will start a two-day state visit to Tunisia on January 31, said Assessor of the HPR Speaker in charge of information and communication Mohamed Ben Souf.

Prospects of Tunisian-French cooperation will be at the heart of Macron’s speech, Ben Souf Wednesday told TAP. The visit is part of efforts to strengthen diplomatic and economic relations.

The French President will meet with Speaker Mohamed Ennaceur before the special session, in the presence of HPR Bureau members and presidents of parliamentary groups.

The French president, who will be accompanied by ministers and businessmen, will have a talk with President of the Republic Beji CaA�d Essebsi. The programme of bilateral cooperation is expected to take centre stage along with ways to deliver a boost to Tunisian-French partnership in a wide array of fields.
