HPR: Vote of confidence this week in Chahed’s nominees for health, SMEs

The House of People’s Representatives (HPR) Wednesday received an official correspondence from President of the Republic Beji CaAd Essebsi to request the holding of a plenary session for a vote of confidence in the new ministers appointed as part of November 18 partial cabinet reshuffle, said Assessor in charge of information and communication Mohamed Ben Souf.

“This request will be submitted to the HPR Bureau to set a date,” he told TAP. The plenary session is expected to be held in the course of the week.

The appointees must win the majority of votes (109). The Speaker shall, under Article 44 of the HPR rules of procedure, call a Bureau meeting within two days following the receipt of the request. The Bureau will then set a date for a plenary session within one week after its meeting.

Premier Youssef Chahed conducted a partial cabinet reshuffle on November 18 and named Imed Hammami and Slim Feriani ministers of health and SMEs respectively.
