The I Watch organisation decided on Friday to file an appeal with the Administrative Court against the decision of the Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE) on the provisions and conditions of candidacy for the December 17 legislative elections in order to suspend its execution.
This measure is part of I Watch’s role to monitor the transparency of elections, the organisation said in a statement issued on Friday.
For I watch, the decision that is the subject of the appeal is marred by several irregularities relating, essentially, to law No. 103 of 1 August 1994 on the organization of signature legislation and the certification of conformity of copies to the original.
In the same context, the organisation added that the appeal was also filed to challenge the violation of the principle of equal opportunities between candidates regarding the tax receipt that was requested from candidates in electoral districts abroad.
Furthermore, I Watch called on the administrative justice to respect the legal deadlines when examining this appeal.
