IACE’s Acceleration Programme launches in Kairouan, El Kef

A training programme geared towards young entrepreneurs launched in Kairouan and the northeast, the Arab Institute of Business Leaders (French: IACE) Monday announced.

The move fits within the Local Employment in Africa for Development (LEAD) project undertaken in partnership with the Dutch government and NGO Spark. IACE offers support through training sessions set for August 19- December 10 in LEAD centres in each region or other spaces in El Kef and Kairouan. A wide variety of themes will be on the training agenda, reads a press release.

Training recipients are project initiators who put their business on track no more than two years ago but have been running into management difficulties since or else those who wish to upgrade their skills to gear up for growth; each training session extends over two days.

The programme dubbed “Acceleration Programme” is the second phase of LEAD; it kicked off with a regional contest of young entrepreneurs held last July 17 in El Kef. A third phase, that of mentoring, will follow.

LEAD, an initiative of the Dutch foreign ministry, seeks to increase job generation by means of developing entrepreneurship, IACE highlights. Coaching, training and support are made available for youths aged 15 to 35 to facilitate their access to finance and help them set up their own business or consolidate existing projects.
