Sustaining Competitive and Responsible Enterprises (SCORE), a programme launched two and a half years ago by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) to improve productivity and working conditions in small- and medium- sized enterprises, benefited one hundred Tunisian buisnesses so far, mainly inTunis, Sousse, Sfax and Zaghouan.
Michael Elkin, the global manager for the programme, told TAP on Friday recipient businesses are operating in import-export activities, car industry, sanitary facilities, packaging and building.
SCORE will be running in Tunisia for three more years during which ILO will seek to establish cooperation relations with relevant international organisations to ensure continuous action when the programme comes to an end.
The ILO targets a further 300 businesses, that is 100 enterprises/ year, the manager added.
Programme officer in Tunisia Nadia Hamed told TAP an ILO delegation made a number of visits to several enterprises across the country.
