IMF Executive Board to meet soon to consider 2nd review of Tunisia’s economic programme” (Lagarde)

“The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will meet as soon as possible to consider the 2nd review of Tunisia’s economic programme under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF), Managing Director of the Fund Christine Lagarde announced Tuesday.

Speaking after a meeting with Prime Minister Youssef Chahed held in Marrakech on the sidelines of the conference “Opportunities for all: Growth, Employment and Inclusiveness in the Arab world” (January 29 and 30), Lagarde added that “at the end of the expert meetings currently held, Tunisia will disburse the third installment of the IMF credit.

She stressed the need for further work to boost productivity and create jobs and urged focusing on the social component by ensuring the protection of vulnerable groups.
