Independence Day: PF objects to attending official ceremony

The Popular Front (PF) Tuesday said it will not attend a ceremony due in Carthage to mark the 62nd anniversary of Tunisia’s independence.

“As much as we bow our heads in the memory of Tunisia’s martyrs and all those who fought the French colonial rule, we refuse to be a false witness of a dangerous agenda that the institution of the Presidency seeks to push forward to re-establish the presidential system and undermine the achievements of the Tunisian Revolution,” the PF highlighted.

The Front is also holding the Presidency of the Republic “primarily accountable” for the deteriorating situation in all fields; this makes of it part of the problem not part of the solution, it said.
