Individual involved in fuel smuggling in buffer zone in Remada arrested (Defence)

A military patrol deployed in the buffer zone in Remada (governorate of Tataouine) arrested on Wednesday an individual who was driving a 4×4 type car without a license plate crossing the borders on the Libyan side and was heading towards the sand barrier at the el Manzla in the Jenin region.

According to a National Defence Ministry press release, the individual was in possession of a Kalashnikov, two loaders of the same weapon and 19 cartridges caliber 7.62.

After verification, the individual proved to be of Libyan nationality and acknowledged to be involved in the traffic of fuel.

He was transferred to the Remada National Guard units.
