Industrial production posted a 8.2% rise in Q1 of 2021 compared to Q4 of 2020, according to the Industrial Production Index (March 2021) released Monday by the National Institute of Statistics.
This is mainly due to manufacturing and extractive industries growing 6.7% and 20.9%, respectively.
Industrial production increased in energy (+ 23.6%), chemical industries (+ 20.4%) as well as construction materials, ceramics and glass industries (+ 4.8%).
Industrial output compared to Q1 of 2020 is up 3.6%. This is observed in manufacturing industries (+ 1.6%) and mining industries (+ 16.7%).
2.6% rise in March 2021
In March 2021, industrial production edged up 2.6% in monthly variation (+ 1.1% in February). This is the result of the upard trend seen in manufacturing industries (+ 2.9%) and extractive industries (+ 3.5%).
