Industrial sales price index up by 5.1% in year-on-year

The industrial sales price index edged up by 5.1% in May 2017 (4.1% in April 2017), according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

This increase is mainly due to a 4.3% rise in the prices of manufacturing products and an 11.7% rise in the prices of extractive products, as a result of the increase in the prices of energy extraction products by 14.3% and non-energy products by 3.7%.

Industrial sale prices up by 0.7% in May 2017 compared to April 2017

In May 2017, the industrial sales price index increased by 0.7% against 0.9% in April. Manufacturing product prices rose by 0.6% and mining products by 2.3%.

Changes in the prices of manufacturing products are mainly due to the 0.9% rise in wood products prices, 1.1% in chemical industry and mechanical and electric power by 0.8%.

On the other hand, a slight decline by 0.1% was recorded in the prices of agro-food products.
