The film SALWA (19′) by Ines Ben Othman won two awards at the 7th edition of Human Screen Festival (HSF), Karama Tunisia.
This fiction film won the prize for the best short fiction film as well as the Actif prize, named after the Tunisian cultural association for insertion and training – ACTIF – the festival’s organiser.
This prize is awarded by HSF to one of the winning films in the four competitive sections of the festival, which is an annual event that sheds light on topical issues related to human rights.
SALWA was among 6 other films in the short fiction film competition, including works produced in 2021: Bisklet (Tunisia), Perm (South Korea), Little Bird (Saudi Arabia), Trumpets in the Sky (France) and 7 Minutes (Portugal) produced in 2020.
“Trapped” (Egypt) was awarded best feature film and “Incomplete Sentences” (Turkey) best documentary. “Letter to Shahheen Bagh (United Kingdom) won the short documentary film competition.
