INLUCC, Directorate General of Prisons sign agreement to uphold good governance, fight corruption

The Directorate General of Prisons and Rehabilitation and the National Anti-Corruption Authority (INLUCC), on Tuesday, signed a partnership agreement to uphold good governance and carry out awareness programmes on fight against corruption.
Under the agreement, various projects and programmes related to transparency and accountability will also be supported.
Working teams in charge of monitoring and implementing the programmes agreed upon between the two parties will be set up.
These teams are also responsible for establishing a work plan to implement the clauses of the agreement and identify corruption risks in the measures adopted by the General Directorate of Prisons and Rehabilitation.
Under the agreement, members of these teams will provide support and expertise in investigating suspected financial or administrative corruption.
They will also work to reduce and streamline procedures that impede the efficiency of administrative work.
INLUCC president Imed Boukhris said prisoners are involved in the implementation of the agreement by responding to a questionnaire that will target a representative sample of the prison population to design new visions in terms of good governance and fight against corruption.
