Security forces have foiled a terrorist attack planned by a woman, the Interior Ministry said on Saturday.

“The alleged attacker, who was previously sentenced to prison for her involvement in a terrorist case, was preparing a suicide attack against a security facility,» the Interior Ministry said in a statement.

The woman also planned to kidnap children of some security and military personnel to swap them out for arrested detainees involved in terrorist cases.

The defendant was referred to the prosecutor’s office of the counter-terrorism division and a judicial investigation was initiated to this effect. A detention warrant has been issued against her, according to the same source.
