Placed under the theme “The eternal message of religions”, this symposium aims to support the sustainability of peace in Africa and in Cote d’Ivoire through interfaith dialogue and the continuity of the eternal message of religions on world peace, in addition to the opening of channels for exchange and listening between the followers of Muslim and Christian religions in Cote d’Ivoire and Africa, said a statement by the organizers.
The meeting also aims to adopt the Abidjan Peace Declaration by the various religious and social actors, the same source added.
This symposium will discuss topics belonging to five themes, namely “the family and school”, “the Ivorian and African civil society”, “training and awareness of religious leaders”, “religions, communication and preaching” and “public authorities and religious actors facing the phenomenon of radicalization and violent religious extremism”.
This international meeting, which will bring together researchers and experts from all African Muslim and Christian backgrounds, will be attended by more than 600 participants including prominent national Ivorian and international personalities, notably the presidents and members of the 34 sections of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema, according to the organizers.
This cultural event corresponds to the African vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful and President of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema, who has always encouraged dialogue and development initiatives in Africa, the organizers said.
