Investigation committee on Jebel Jloud train-bus collision established (Ministry of Transport)

The Ministry of Transport announced the formation of an investigation committee on Jebel Jloud train-bus collision.

The ministry said in a statement that the committee will present the results of its investigation on the accident, which killed 5 people and injured 54, within a week.

Additionally, measures were taken:

-Counting and checking-up the functioning of all equipment related to intersections with the railway.

-The placement of a security guard at all dangerous intersections not equipped in urban areas.

– The delimitation of the black spots at which accidents have been repeated and their provision of the necessary equipment in 2017.

– Maintenance of all existing intersection equipment.

– Coordination between the Ministry of Equipment and Housing with the municipalities to carry out an action plan related to setting up the necessary signals before intersections, or even the installation of speed bumpers if necessary.

– Invitation of all national and regional public transport companies to carry out an annual safety programme based essentially on operating personnels and the maintenance of means of transport.
