ISGF Ghana Chapter to Embark on Seven-Day Peace Walk from Kumasi-Accra.

Kumasi: The International Scouts and Guides Fellowship (ISGF) Ghana Chapter is set to embark on a seven-day walk from Kumasi to Accra to promote peace ahead of the December elections. The event, scheduled for November 21-28, 2024, will commence at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi and conclude at the Palace of the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II. According to Ghana News Agency, the walk, themed 'A Call to Unity: Fly the Flag for Peace,' will feature hundreds of scouts waving the Ghana flag as a symbol of unity, spreading a message of peace. At the event launch in Accra, Mr. Andrew Botchwey, President of the ISGF Ghana Chapter, emphasized that the initiative aims to inspire unity and peace among Ghanaians as the December election draws near. Mr. Botchwey invited all Ghanaians to join the event, highlighting the importance of togetherness for the nation's future. He noted that as Scouts and Guides, they uphold values of respect, harmony, and service. With the Peace Gathering 2024, they seek to encourage ever y Ghanaian to set aside differences, celebrate shared identity, and promote peace at this crucial time. He further encouraged participation in the peace walk as a commitment to maintaining the country's peace while strengthening community bonds, stating that shared values are stronger than any differences. Mr. Botchwey invoked the words of the national anthem, urging unity to achieve national greatness. The peace walk will also serve as a fundraising opportunity for the construction of an ultra-modern training centre for scouts and guides at Efumkrom in Nsawam.
