ISIE decides use of election ink

The Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE) adopted, on Sunday, the decision to use the indelible election ink for the municipal poll of May 6.

Granted by China in the form of a donation, the ordered quantities of election ink will arrive to Tunisia before the 25th of the current month, ISIE member Anis Jarboui told TAP.

The decision to use the election ink, which comes after a previous decision to cancel its use because of its high cost, aims to ensure the transparency of the poll and the serenity of the electoral climate, he added.

On the other hand, said Jarboui, the election ink will not be used during the vote of the police and the military scheduled on April 29, recalling that the results of the ballot of this category and that of the rest of the voters (May 6), will not be announced separately but concomitantly after the end of the municipal elections.
