ISIE will ensure availability of electoral ink on May 6, 2018 (Farouk Bouasker)

Member of the Independent High Authority for the Election (ISIE) Farouk Bouasker said Sunday that the authority is currently working in coordination with the Prime Ministry to provide ink election on May 6.

The ink, he said, will not be used for security and the military officers on April 29 to preserve the confidentiality of the vote.

He added in a statement to media on the sidelines of a conference held in Monastir that the decision of the ISIE not to use ink election was taken with a majority.

Referring to the preparations for the electoral campaign that will be launched on April 14, Bouasker said that the training sessions are organised for the benefit of campaign control officers, members of sectoral election bodies and employees, recruited provisionally to control the electoral campaigns, the financing as well as media notably written and electronic media.

Campaign control is the core of control over the campaign and activities, said Bouasker, recalling that 1,400 officers will be distributed over 350 municipalities to take an oath before the judges of the courts of first instance and they will exercise their mission properly.

The ISIE has installed, he said, at the headquarters level technical equipment needed to monitor audiovisual, electronic and written media and recruited experts in law and journalism.
