Gaza city: At least 40 Palestinians were killed and numerous others wounded following a series of Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, medical sources reported. The attacks have intensified the already dire situation in the region, with significant casualties and widespread destruction.
According to Anadolu Agency, the strikes included an incident where Israeli forces targeted a tent sheltering displaced families near the University College in Khan Younis, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, including a young girl. In a separate attack in al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis, four Palestinians were killed, and several others were injured when a displacement tent came under fire. Additionally, two people were killed and ten injured near the Applied Sciences College in al-Mawasi. Another fatality occurred when a man was shot by Israeli forces in the same area.
The ongoing military campaign by Israel has led to the death of nearly 62,100 Palestinians in Gaza since October 2023. The relentless bombardment has devastated the enclave, which is now facing severe humanitarian challenges, including a looming famine. The situation remains critical as the international community calls for immediate de-escalation and humanitarian aid to the affected populations.
