Beirut: Israeli warplanes conducted a series of airstrikes on the eastern mountain range along the Lebanon-Syria border, as confirmed by Lebanese security sources and the Israeli military. The targeted sites were located in the areas of al-Shaara, Nabi, and Khreibeh in eastern Lebanon. Authorities reported no immediate casualties following the strikes.
According to Ghana News Agency, the Israeli military stated that the operation was aimed at a Hezbollah facility in the Bekaa Valley, which was allegedly being used for the production of precision-guided missiles. Military spokesperson Avichay Adraee communicated on X that the targeted location breached existing understandings between Israel and Lebanon. He emphasized that Israel “will continue to act to remove any threat” posed by Hezbollah.
Despite a ceasefire in place since late November, Israel has maintained near-daily air operations inside Lebanon, focusing primarily on the south and border regions. The military asserts that these attacks target Hezbollah positions, weapons depots, or senior operatives. Meanwhile, Hezbollah has largely refrained from firing rockets into northern Israel since the truce between the two nations began. However, Israeli officials claim that the group is discreetly working to rebuild its arsenal and enhance its missile capabilities.
