French Prime Minister Jean Castex is expected Wednesday in Tunis for a two-day official visit (June 2-3) to attend the 3rd French – Tunisian High Council for Cooperation.
This meeting brings together every two years the two countries’ Prime Ministers and other ministers to discuss cooperation issues.
The issues raised will focus notably on economic development, security, education and training, culture and the Francophonie.
Several partnership agreements and memorandums of understanding regarding the economy, justice, defence, security, higher education and scientific research fields, are expected to be inked on the occasion.
During his visit to Tunisia, Jean Castex will be accompanied by a large delegation of ministers and heads of French companies.
On this occasion, he will have talks with President Kais Saied, Prime Minister Hichem Méchichi and President of the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA) Samir Majoul.
At the UTICA seat, the French PM will take part in an economic meeting on digital technology in the presence of several business leaders from both countries.
Before concluding his visit to Tunisia, Jean Castex is expected to visit the site of the Tunis Rapid Rail Network (RFR) and then the Bardo Museum.
