Jendouba: 2 MD grant from EU to fund joint projects under IRADA programme

The programme entitled “Regional Initiative to Support Sustainable Economic Development (IRADA)” started on Thursday in the governorate of Jendouba. A budget of 2 million dinars has been granted for the implementation of this programme in the region.

IRADA is particularly interested in the regional initiative to promote sustainable economic development through, inter alia, creation of spaces for dialogue between the public and private sectors, identification of projects that respond to the specificities of the region as well as capacity-building of regional actors and contribution of the private sector to local economic development, said Executive Director of the programme Mohamed Deraa.

For his part the representative of the European Union in Tunisia in charge of monitoring the programme, Lars Flocke Larsen recalled that an amount of Euros 16 million has been allocated by the EU to this programme to promote development projects in eight governorates, Gabes, Medenine, Gafsa, Kasserine, Sfax, Sidi Bouzid, Bizerte and Jendouba, stressing that the choice of these regions can be explained by the great potential they have for the implementation of action plans and to boost innovation and investment regionally.
