Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Othman Jerandi met in Rome with Norway’s Foreign Minister Ine Marie Eriksen Soreide.
The talk took place on the sidelines of a joint meeting of the G20 Foreign and Development Ministers.
Jerandi and Ine Marie Eriksen Soreide discussed the Security Council agenda for next July, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release, including the possibility of raising the issue of the Grand Renaissance Dam and coordinating positions with the remaining member states.
They also said there is need to provide humanitarian corridors in Syria and expressed the hope to see the Security Council issue resolutions to facilitate the passage of humanitarian convoys.
The Norwegian minister said her country is following closely the process of democratioc transition in Tunisia and is ready to support it.
Jerandi also had a talk with Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kenya Raychelle Awuor Omamo. The meeting turned on the importance of coordinating stances on issues on the Security Council agenda, mainly the state of play in Libya and the Grand Renaissance Dam.
Raychelle Awuor Omamo said she endorses Tunisia’s proposal of direct coordination among member African countries on current issues.
