Jhinaoui meets Italy’s new ambassador in Tunis

Minister of Foreign Affairs Khemaies Jhinaoui, met Tuesday in Tunis, with Italy’s new ambassador in Tunis Lorenzo Fanara.

The meeting focused on ways to raise co-operation between Tunisia and Italy to higher levels as well as on the upcoming events at the bilateral and multilateral levels, said a statement from the Foreign Affairs Department.

Jhinaoui reaffirmed Tunisia’s commitment to develop the co-operative relations with Italy in order to boost the competitiveness of the Tunisian economy and improve the business and investment climate to meet the different challenges on the horizon.

The minister also spoke of the preparations for the meeting of the European Union (EU)-Tunisia Association Council scheduled for next May in Brussels.

Foreign Ministers of EU member states and senior officials of the European Commission will take part in this meeting, reads the same statement.
