Jhinaoui/Bogdanov discuss means to develop Tunisian-Russian co-operation

The Tunisian-Russian co-operation and means to develop it in all fields were at heart of Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui’s meeting Wednesday in Amman with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and special representative of the Russian President for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov.

The meeting was held on the fringes of the preparatory meetings for the 28th Arab Summit, due on Wednesday in Jordan, a Foreign Ministry press release reads.

The meeting offered the occasion to look at means to deepen consultation between the two countries on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

As regards the Libyan file, Jhinaoui pointed out the development of President Beji Caid Essebsi’s initiative to solve the crisis in this country and the growing support to the inititiave at the regional and international levels.

In the same connection, the minister said that the Tunisian approach to solve the crisis in Libya is based on dialogue and consensus. The goal is to preserve this country’s territorial integrity and guarantee security in the region, he added.

Bogdanov for his part, reasserted his country’s support to Caid Essebsi’s initiative, commending the efforts exerted by Tunisia in this regard.
