President Kaïs Saïed stressed at a meeting with civil society representatives Thursday, during a meeting with representatives of civil society from Aqareb, Sfax governorate “the unity of the Tunisian state” and “the importance of awareness of the dangers facing the country,” warning against any attempt to aggravate the situation.

The President of the Republic also pledged to “initiate a serious investigation into the circumstances of the death of Abdelrazak Lachheb and to examine the file of those arrested in connection with the protests.»
In addition, the President of the Republic heard proposals related to this topic.
Those proposals “will be studied with all parties concerned, to ensure a healthy environment for all citizens, as stipulated in the Constitution,” stressed the head of state.
The police in recent days used tear gas in the delegation of Agareb to disperse demonstrators who protested the reopening of the landfill of El Gonna.
