Kamel Fekih appointed as new Interior Minister (Presidency) [Upd 1]

Kamel Fekih has been appointed as Minister of the Interior, under a Presidential Decree, the Presidency said in a brief statement on Friday evening. it added that President Kais Saied has issued another decree, under which Taoufik Charfeddine was relieved from duties as Interior Minister.
Taoufik Charfeddine had announced earlier in the afternoon he had submitted his resignation to the President of the Republic, who accepted it.
“I would like to thank the President of the Republic and extend to him my feelings of respect and consideration for the trust he has placed in me and for the understanding he has shown of my situation by accepting my resignation,” he told reporters, on the graduation ceremony of the 73rd class of the National Guard School in Bir Bouregba.
Kamel Fekih has been serving as the Governor of Tunis, till his appointment as Interior Minister .
