Kébili hosts training on waste recovery in oases

The economic services grouping of Nefzaoua oases (Governorate of Kebili) has started a set of training sessions under the programme for the collection and recovery of organic waste from oases.

Funded by the German cooperation (GIZ), the training sessions target mainly farmers and professional groups, grouping president Ameur Ben Boubaker indicated to TAP on Wednesday.

The training covers the transformation of palm waste into natural fertiliser, the official said, adding that the grouping had just bought a Tunisian-made machine to recycle palm waste into natural fertiliser under the “Massire” project.

The machine will be made available to farmers to recycle oasis waste to be re-used as fertiliser for the soil or as a component in animal feed.
