Kennedy Agyapong Triumphs in Mfantseman Constituency NPP Presidential Primaries

MFANTSEMAN — The New Patriotic Party's presidential primary in the Mfantseman Constituency concluded with Kennedy Agyapong, Member of Parliament for Assin Central, securing a win over his competitors, including Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

According to Ghana News Agency, the Municipal Director of the Electoral Commission, Agyapong received 551 votes, while Vice President Bawumia obtained 540 votes in a tightly contested race. Dr. Afriyie Akoto and Mr. Addai Nimo garnered five and seven votes, respectively, with one ballot rejected out of 1,104 valid votes cast. Following the announcement, Agyapong’s supporters thanked delegates and emphasized the importance of unity and peace within the party in anticipation of the national results.
