Kente Weaver Found Dead Near Home in Agbozume

AGBOZUME: A man identified as Sena Gomado, a local kente weaver in his early 40s, was discovered dead near his home in Agortorme-Vekorfe, a suburb of Agbozume in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region. The lifeless body was found near a mango tree behind his residence early on Friday. According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Doe Asinyo, an Assembly member of the area, revealed that the deceased was a father of two who had lived alone following a divorce about 15 years ago. Gomado was reportedly healthy and showed no signs of depression or frustration that could have led to suicide. However, another resident, Mr. Godwin Avevor, mentioned that Gomado had recently exhibited unusual behavior, becoming withdrawn and avoiding social interactions. Avevor also disclosed a previous suicide attempt by Gomado that had been thwarted. Mr. Kwaku Mahogany Kemavor, a Unit Committee member in the Srohume Electoral Area, expressed the community's shock at the incident, stating that such events were rare in the area. He d escribed Gomado as a calm and reserved individual with no known conflicts. Community members, deeply saddened by the loss, are advocating for increased mental health support and awareness. The Agbozume Police have transported the body to the Hossana Morgue in Agbozume for further examination. Authorities have yet to release an official statement or additional details about the incident's circumstances.
