Ketu South MP and Chiefs to Welcome Chinese Ambassador to Inspect Proposed Site

Aflao: The Member of Parliament for Ketu South, Madam Abla Dzifa Gomashie, and the Paramount Chief of the Aflao Traditional Area, Torgbuigah Adzongaga Amenya Fiti V, are expected to welcome the Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, Mr. Tong Defa, on an inspection tour of the proposed site for the Aflao Modern Market project.

According to Ghana News Agency, the inspection tour is scheduled for Thursday, July 31, at Aflao, the Municipal capital. A statement signed by Mr. Bright Dzila, the Communication Officer of the Ketu South Constituency of the National Democratic Congress, indicated that the visit would provide Ambassador Tong Defa the opportunity to assess the project site and engage with key stakeholders.

The statement highlighted that the visit would enable the ambassador to gain a deeper understanding of the project's requirements and potential impact on the community. The inspection tour is expected to reaffirm the shared commitment and vision of President Mahama to transform Aflao into a modern commercial hub. The project, once completed, is anticipated to have a significant impact on the local economy and improve the lives of residents.

Financial support for the Aflao Modern Market Project is set to come from a USD 30 million grant provided by the Government of the People's Republic of China. This grant demonstrates the strong partnership between Ghana and China and their commitment to promoting economic development in the region.

The Ketu South MP, Dzifa Gomashie, has been instrumental in advocating for the development of Aflao. Her efforts have brought attention to the needs of the community and helped secure support for the project. The Aflao Modern Market Project is expected to provide a modern and efficient market infrastructure, creating opportunities for traders and youths while improving the overall business environment within the Volta Region and Ghana at large.

The statement further noted that the two countries are working together to promote economic development and improve the lives of Ghanaians. It was also revealed that the Chinese Ambassador will be accompanied by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa, for the inspection.
