Kpeve Gears Up to Host 2025 Zendo Glimetsoza Festival

KPEVE: The chiefs and people of Kpeve, in the Afadzato South district, have formally taken possession of the Zendo Glimetsoza Festival flag, marking their role as the next hosts for the 2025 celebration. The handover event is a pivotal moment in the festival's annual cycle, symbolizing the transfer of responsibility and setting the stage for the forthcoming festivities. According to Ghana News Agency, the ceremonial exchange took place in a vibrant gathering that underscored the cultural significance and continuity of the festival. Torgbui Akpalu-Agbali II, Dufia of Glidzi, represented the outgoing hosts from Klikor, acknowledging the challenges they faced in organizing the 2024 festival. He expressed confidence in Kpeve's capabilities to orchestrate an even more successful event in 2025. "The people of Kpeve have a huge task ahead of them to organize a festival that is even bigger and more successful than this year's," he stated during his address. Mr. Joseph Agbolosu, Chairman of the Central Planning Comm ittee, lauded the efforts of Klikor in the 2024 festival and encouraged Kpeve to strive for greater accomplishments. The flag was officially handed over to Mama Ama Serwah Dansoah II, Paramount Queen Mother of Kpeve, who accepted it on behalf of her community. She pledged to ensure that the 2025 festival would not only meet but exceed expectations, promising a memorable and impactful event. The Zendo Glimetsoza Festival, a significant cultural event for the Zendo communities, rotates among five districts: Klikor, Kpeve, Tsorxor, Tsibu, and Klefe. It celebrates the shared history and migration of their ancestors from Notsie and fosters unity and development within these regions. With the flag now in their possession, Kpeve has officially commenced preparations for the 2025 celebration, aiming to strengthen community bonds and celebrate their rich cultural heritage.
