The second round of legislative elections is set for January 29, said President of the Independent High Authority for Elections (French: ISIE) Farouk Bouasker.
Campaigning is due to begin on January 16 at midnight and ends on January 27 at midnight. Election silence starts on January 28 and continues through January 29 as the last polling station closes, Bouasker Sunday told a press conference at the Convention Centre in Tunis.
The announcement of preliminary runoff election results is scheduled for February 1 at the latest.
The election commission will announce final results next March 4 at the latest after the expiry of deadlines laid down for challenges.
ISIE Council approved Sunday two decisions related to the announcement of the final results of the first round and the calendar of the second round. This was as it met at the Convention Centre under the chairmanship of Farouk Bouasker and with attendance of Vice-President Maher Jedidi.
