Lithuania opens two honorary consulates in Tunis and Sousse

Lithuania’s two honorary consulates in Tunis and Sousse opened their doors on Tuesday on the occasion of Lithuanian Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Neris Germanas’s working visit to Tunisia.

The opening ceremony of these two consulates was held in the presence of Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Sabri Bachtobji and his Lithuanian opposite number Neris Germanas, a Foreign Ministry statement published on Thursday reads.

The opening of these two consulates aims to reinforce relations between Tunisia and Lithuania that date back to 1992, the press release added.

Germanas is currently in Tunisia since February 5 to co-chair with Bachtobji the first session of the Tunisian-Lithuanian political consultations.
