Ketu north municipality: The Lordina Foundation, under the leadership of former First Lady Mrs. Lordina Mahama, has significantly boosted the healthcare capabilities of Afife Health Centre by donating a plethora of medical equipment and supplies. This contribution, valued at millions of cedis, aims to enhance medical services available to the local population. According to Ghana News Agency, the donated items include five hospital beds, one incubator, two wheelchairs, a toilet commode, two baby cots, two baby carts, three boxes of latex gloves, 20 pairs of surgical shoes, 20 medical surgical gowns, two boxes of additional surgical gowns, two cabinets, a sphygmomanometer with stethoscope, and 20 bags of sanitary pads. Mrs. Mahama expressed her pleasure at being able to support the health facility and highlighted her confidence that the new equipment would substantially improve healthcare delivery in the area. "I am glad to have been able to support the Afife Health Centre, and I am confident that this equipm ent will go a long way to improve healthcare for the people here," Mrs. Mahama stated during the handover ceremony. She also took this opportunity to call for unity and development in the community, urging support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its local parliamentary candidate, Mr. Edem Agbana. The event was marked by gratitude from local healthcare staff and community leaders. Mr. Sampson Kojo Mortty, a Physician Assistant at the Health Centre, and Mr. Edem Agbana, representing the local community, both expressed deep appreciation for the donation. Mr. Agbana shared how proactive Mrs. Mahama was in responding to the community's needs after he reached out for support. The ceremony was attended by regional and constituency executives of the NDC, as well as chiefs and queen mothers from Afife and surrounding areas, highlighting the broad community support and the political implications of the donation. This charitable act by the Lordina Foundation is part of its ongoing mission to furnish un der-resourced health facilities across Ghana, focusing particularly on those in rural and underserved areas, thereby improving the standard of healthcare throughout the nation.
