At the beginning of the meeting, Talbi Alami said that this visit will give a new impetus to the strengthening of relations between the two legislative institutions, praising the relations between the House of Representatives and its Egyptian counterpart at bilateral and multilateral levels, as well as the fruitful coordination during the various international and regional parliamentary forums.

He also indicated that he proposed the accession of the Egyptian House of Representatives to the Executive Bureau of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean, which will be chaired by the House of Representatives of Morocco.

During these talks, Talbi Alami highlighted the achievements of the House of Representatives over the past decade, which have given it a distinguished place in many regional, continental and international parliamentary bodies and organizations.

Hailing the unique ties between the two countries, the speaker of the lower house said that Rabat and Cairo have a deep-rooted common history, as well as experiences that should be shared, expressing the openness of the house on all initiatives to support parliamentary relations between the two countries.

For his part, the speaker of the Egyptian Senate noted that his participation in the 11th Conference of the Association of Senates, Shoora and Equivalent Councils of Africa and the Arab World, and the activities of the Forum of Parliamentary Dialogue of Latin American and Caribbean Senates, organized under the patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, from 3 to 5 March in Rabat, marks the beginning of a new era in bilateral and multilateral parliamentary relations.
