Luxembourg undertakes to boost co-operation with Tunisia in economy, security and migration fields

Luxembourg’s Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn reaffirmed on Monday his country’s commitment to boost co-operation with Tunisia in the economy, security and migration fields.

Received by Prime Minister Youssef Chahed, Asselborn also pointed out his country’s willingness to carry on co-operation with Tunisia in the microfinance field after 2018.

The meeting had turned on bilateral relations and on issues of mutual interest as security, migration, trade and the Tunisian-EU relations, Asselborn said.

Tunisia and Luxembourg share the same positions on several files of mutual interest, notably the crisis in Libya, he was quoted as saying in a Prime Ministry press release.

The two countries call for a comprehensive political settlement of the Libyan crisis under the United Nations’ auspices, he indicated.
