Man Accused of Killing Woman and Her Children in Kasoa Appears in Court

Adabraka: Samuel Amoah, also known as Biggie, who is accused of murdering a woman and her two children in Kasoa last year, appeared for the first time before the Adabraka District Court. The case against Amoah was postponed to Thursday, September 25, 2025, as the court did not convene.

According to Ghana News Agency, police had a challenging time escorting the accused to a waiting police vehicle, while relatives of the deceased expressed their anger towards Amoah with insults. Some relatives refuted claims that the deceased, Alberta Hagan, had any relationship with the accused, stating she was married and only had Amoah run errands for her.

Amoah was charged with three counts of murder after being apprehended by the police on September 17, 2025, in Suhum, Eastern Region. He is accused of killing Alberta Hagan and her two children on May 19, 2024. Police learned about the incident when they received a report of Hagan and her children being found dead at their home in Tuba Net-Link Estates, a suburb of Kasoa.

Upon arriving at the scene, the police discovered Hagan, aged 39, and her three children, aged 18, 10, and eight, lying in a pool of blood. The youngest child was found alive with severe head injuries and was rushed to the hospital, while the other bodies were taken to the Police Hospital morgue. Amoah was arrested following police intelligence efforts, and during interrogation, he confessed to the crime but claimed he did not understand his actions. Investigations into the case are ongoing.
