Martyr Mohamed Brahmi Square inaugurated on 4th anniversary of assassination

Martyr Mohamed Brahmi Square was inaugurated Tuesday in Tunis by President of the Republic Beji CaA�d Essebsi.

Mohamed Brahmi, MP and general coordinator of the People’s Current, was gunned down on July 25, 2013, outside his house in Ariana.

The President saluted the flag as the national anthem was performed and laid a wreath at the square (formerly known as Africa Square) before reciting the Fatiha in the memory of martyr Mohamed Brahmi. He also unveiled, along with MP and Brahmi’s widow Mbarka Brahmi, the commemorative plaque of the square.

The ceremony was attended by the marty’s family and his comrades, members of Martyr Mohamed Brahmi Foundation, Speaker of the House of People’s Representatives Mohamed Ennaceur, national personalities and representatives of national organisations.
