Marwa Chtioui wins Best Young Designer award at Young Fashion Designers Festival

The third edition of the Young Fashion Designers Festival held under the theme: “On the footsteps of Ezzedine AlaA�a closed on Friday night.

The closing ceremony was attended by several fashion designers, artists, journalists, and fashionists from Tunisia, France, Italy, Egypt and Morocco.

The evening concluded with an award ceremony and an exhibition of the best designs inspired by couturier Ezzeddine AlaA�a’s work.

Fashion designer Marwa Chtioui won the Best Young Designer award and will participate in Rome Fashion Week. The second prize was awarded to Sabrine Ben Salem.

President of the Festival’s steering committee and President of the CONECT’s Professional Grouping of Garment and Clothing Samir Ben Abdallah said the festival aims to help young fashion designers to present their products and market their work in the fashion world.

He further highlighted the importance of the festival in promoting the textile sector in Tunisia which, he said, provides 160,000 jobs and generates 5,000 million in foreign currencies.

The evening commenced with fashion shows of 16 designers and training centres.
