“Masken expo” fair for Tunisian expatriates in France, March 31-April 2 in Paris

The first edition of the Tunisian Housing and Banking Finances Exhibition Masken Expo will be held on March 31-April 2 in Paris.

It will offer to Tunisian expatriates in France the opportunity to purchase a house or a piece of land in Tunisia by bringing the sales and funding service closer to them, Director General of the fair Amna Limame said on Monday in Tunis.

The organisation of his exhibition comes after the success of the Maskan Expo that was held last year in Dubai which second edition is scheduled in May 2018.

This is the first experience of property development in this field with a sell rate of over 60% and fulfillment of some 2,000 sales agreements, she pointed out.

This fair is expected to attract over 100 exhibitors (real estate developers, bankers, land planners, architects, decorators…) and other partners to present their housing projects and land offers in addition to housing loans.

President of the Real Estate Developers Federation (French: CSNPI) Fahmi Chaabane indicated that all housing categories (improved and high standing) will be proposed by several real estate developers from 12 governorates including Sfax, Sousse, Monastri, Mahdia, Nabeul and Tunis as the Tunisian real estate is becoming modern and luxurious and the depreciation of the dinar has helped the prices to be very encouraging for the Tunisian community in France.

It is an opportunity to offer our real estate products to the Europeans (French and others) seeking to purchase dwellings in Tunisia, he indicated

In this respect, he pointed out that the federation had repeatedly urged the government to cancel the condition that forces the foreigner to obtain the governor’s authorisation so as to purchase a dwelling in Tunisia.

The cancellation of this condition in other neighbouring countries, such as Morocco that had canceled it 10 years ago, will have positive impacts on the country’s economic performance notably in terms of foreign currencies inflow, he added.

The number of dwellings has declined (from 14,000 in 2010 to some 9,000 annually provided by some 3,000 real estate developers), Director General of Housing at the Equipment, Housing and Spatial Planning Ministry Nejib Snoussi said.

The Masken Expo fair will also be held in Berlin in October 2018, Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) in November 13 and Doha (Qatar).
