Mdhilla situation closely monitored and reports on offences to be presented shortly (ISIE member)

The situation in Mdhila (Gafsa governorate) is being closely monitored, Member of the Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE) Najla Ibrahim indicated.

Most of the cases of violence between candidates were recorded nearby the polling stations apart from the destruction of ballot boxes and exchange of violence between heads of lists in Mdhilla, hence preventing voters from going to the polls and causing vote stoppage twice, she pointed out.

Cases of violence were also recorded in the vicinity of the polling station in Mejaz el Bab, Beja governorate and Fouchana, Ben Arous.

ISIE observers on site will draw up their reports so as to review the necessary measures to be taken.

Brahim also spoke of the delay recorded in opening some polling stations due to lateness of members of some polling stations including those of Kram and Ariana.

Three out of four members of Thala and Kasserine’s polling stations were replaced due to family ties with candidates, she indicated.
