Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi held a set of meetings with the representatives of the parliamentary blocs supporting the government, the Prime Ministry said Thursday.
These meetings offered the opportunity to discuss the latest developments on the national political and economic scenes and to look into ways to iron out the difficulties hindering the government’s action and to solve the political crisis the country is suffering from.
Mechichi received in this regard, MPs of the parliamentary blocs of Ennahdha, Qalb Tounes, Reform, Watania and Tahya Tounes.
He listened to their proposals to take up the challenges posed by the difficult economic and social crisis and by the health situation due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The PM considered that the current situation of socio-economic crisis requires the solidarity of all Tunisians, political actors and State institutions.
“Now is the time to join efforts to get out of the crisis and avoid all the political bickering and one-upmanship that only worsen the situation,” according to the same source.
The MPs affirmed their willingness to support the government’s action plans in various fields and to back its programmes, especially in the economic, social and development fields.
They also underlined the need for better coordination between the government and the parliament at the legislative level.
