Nine people died of the coronavirus in Medenine during the last 24 hours, while another 183 people tested positive for the virus.

The overall number of people who contracted the virus in the region has risen to 28,999, including 993 fatalities, Director of Preventive Health in Medenine Zayd Al-Anz told TAP.

Among the new COVID-19 cases, 56 were detected in Djerba Houmet Souk, 50 in Zarzis, 26 in Djerba Ajim and 17 in Midoun,
