Medenine-Ras Jedir motorway to be completed at end 2019

The Medenine-Ras Jedir motorway will have to be completed by the end of 2019, in all its components, including tolls, security equipment and green spaces, CEO of Tunisie Autoroutes Badreddine Lahbil announced Thursday in Zarzis, during a working session dedicated to the project.

After the settlement of land issues, work is progressing at a satisfactory pace, currently reaching 88%, said the CEO.

The Medenine-Ras Jedir motorway covers 92 km. The project, with a total cost of 500 million dinars, will be funded by the State with a loan from the African Development Bank (AfDB).

It, inter alia, provides for the re-development of the national motorway No. 1 in its section between the motorway and the border crossing of Ras Jedir towards Libya.
