Media reports of visa refusal for father of Palestinian activist Ahed Tamimi unfounded (Foreign Ministry)

Reports according to which Tunisia would have denied the father of Palestinian activist Ahed Tamimi an entry visa are groundless, the Foreign Ministry Sunday said.

Information Officer at the Foreign Ministry Bouraoui Limam told TAP Bassem Tamimi is welcome in Tunisia, like all Palestinians, and that a visa was granted to him as soon as he applied for.

Earlier, the Interior Ministry said an entry visa to Tunisia was granted to Bassem Tamimi on March 30, following an application on March 29.

Born on March 30, 2001, young Palestinian activist Ahed Tamimi, a native of the small West Bank village of Nabi Saleh, has become a symbol of the Palestinian Resistance.

Ahed Tamimi was arrested on December 19, 2017, by the Israeli army after she was filmed kicking and slapping an Israeli soldier.
