Mega show to take place in July at Culture city on theme “United Nations on the Silk Road”, according to Moratinos

A mega-show will be organised next July at the City of Culture on the theme “The United Nations on the Silk Road”, announced former Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs and President of the UNART Foundation, Miguel Angel Moratinos During his meeting Thursday at the Carthage Palace with President Beji Caid Essebsi.

“The choice of Tunisia to organise this event is mainly due to the climate of stability that prevails in the country and the great tourism potential it has,” said Moratinos on the sidelines of his participation on April 10 and 11, 2018 in Tunis at an International Conference on the Silk Road: China and the Mediterranean Sea.

According to him, this international conference provided the occasion to examine the opportunities for cooperation between the countries of the Mediterranean basin and China.

While hailing the central role that Tunisia plays in the Mediterranean region, Moratinos considered it essential for the countries of the region to unify their positions on the prospects for Sino-Mediterranean cooperation.

For his part, the Head of State praised the role played by the Mediterranean experts and high skills in the consolidation of cooperation between the countries on both shores of the Mediterranean and in the settlement of regional issues, with a focus on the importance that Tunisia attaches to Mediterranean integration and to contributing to its stability and development.
