The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad is coordinating with the Ukrainian authorities and neighbouring countries as well as international humanitarian organisations and associations of Tunisians in Ukraine, for the evacuation of Tunisian nationals in this country, it said Thursday.
In a statement issued after the meeting of the crisis unit responsible for monitoring the situation in Ukraine, the ministries and structures involved in the evacuation plan say they are ready for the repatriation of members of the Tunisian community who have registered their data with the Tunisian embassies in Moscow and Warsaw and have not been able to leave the Ukrainian territory.
The Ministry renews its call to other members of the Tunisian community in Ukraine wishing to be repatriated to contact as soon as possible the embassies of Tunisia in Moscow or Warsaw to update their data to be included on the lists of Tunisians who will be repatriated.
The crisis unit, created within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, remains in a permanent session, to respond to any development that may arise in this case, and monitor and ensure the evacuation of Tunisian nationals in Ukraine, said the statement.
The Department of Foreign Affairs reiterates its call for utmost vigilance and for complying with the recommendations of the authorities of the country of residence.
The meeting of the crisis unit, which was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was attended by representatives of the Ministries of National Defence, Interior, Transport, Health and the national carrier Tunisair, with the participation by vtc of representatives of the embassies of Tunisia in Moscow and Warsaw.
