Millennium Challenge Corporation grants Tunisia US$ 750,000 management premium

The Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) granted Tunisia a US$ 750,000 management premium.

The contract was signed Tuesday by Minister of Development, Investment and International Cooperation Mohamed Fahdel Abdelkefi in the presence of US Ambassador to Tunisia Daniel Rubinstein, a delegation from this independent U.S. foreign aid agency and its Country Programme Coordinator.

The MCC seeks to provide Tunisia among other partner countries with the needed financial and technical support as part of programmes designed to reduce poverty through growth.

It also aims to help create opportunities for disadvantaged regions and sections of the population via social integration-based projects.

The MCC will help over a two-year period with the setting up of working teams in Tunisia and the identification of projects.

The second stage of action consists in the implementation and funding of selected projects.
